RACE ROUTE 2009

Stage 2
Senawang - Melaka • 160.9kms

10th February 2009

STAGE SUMMARY

AFTER the warm-up of a relatively easy first stage, the peloton moves into a more challenging Stage Two which should see early attacks spreading out the bunch, as the race heads into an early third category climb in Bukit Inas.

This could see a swift change in the of the polka dot jersey, but the race turns flat heading into Tampin, where the bunch would likely reunite before the first intermediate sprint of the day.

The peloton is then expected to shift up a gear, moving quickly over flatlands entering the state of Malacca via Simpang Ampat, Brisy and Ramuan Cina Besar, where a break at the front is expected to be spurred by those seeking points from the second intermeediate sprint in Masjid Tanah at the 97 kilometre point.

It is then flat all the way to the third intermediate sprint in Cheng, before the peloton enters some slight undulations all the way through Alor Gajah, durian Tunggal, Batu Berendam and finally the finish in the historic city of Malacca.
